Special Plenary Indulgence

For the faithful who are able to devoutly visit the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception on the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and who, while within this church, participate in any sacred rite or at least recite the Lord’s Prayer and the Profession of Faith may obtain a plenary indulgence under the usual conditions (sacramental confession, Eucharistic Communion, and offer a prayer for the intentions of the Holy Father) (Domus Ecclesiae, 9 November 1989 Papal Proclamation, 12 October 1990).
